Resolution

  1. Edit the file called LogNamesToPropertyTypeCatalog.xml in your <petrel installation>\xml folder and add the following lines:

    For GeoFrame:
    <Entry>
       <Property>SEISMIC_DEFAULT</Property>
       <Mnemonics>SREF</Mnemonics>
    </Entry>

    This will set all curve kind of "SREF" to be seismic (time based) well logs.  SREF is the curve kind used by GeoFrame to tag this type of well logs.  

    For OpenWorks: 
    <Entry>
       <Property>SEISMIC_DEFAULT</Property>
       <Mnemonics>Synthetic</Mnemonics>
    </Entry>
    this will set all  curve kind of "Synthetic," to be seismic (time based) well logs.  Synthetic is the curve kind used by OpenWorks to tag this type of well logs.

  2. Start Petrel, connect to OpenSpirit, and then broadcast the well log from the Data Selector.  The log should have the "Seismic log template" for Type in Petrel.
