Description
ADS adapter for Microsoft SQL Server fails to connect with error 'The authentication value "BASIC" is not valid.' This is due to a known issue that occurs when a sqljdbc41.jar file built in 2017 is used with the adapter.

Resolution
The CIS Administration Manual recommends using Microsoft's sqljdbc4.jar in this adapter role for all supported Microsoft SQL Server versions. A Microsoft sqljdbc41.jar file that only contains Java classes from 2015 can also be run successfully in this adapter role, but if a sqljdbc41.jar file that was built in 2017 is used, it will throw the error 'The Authentication value "BASIC" is not valid.'
