Description

When the result of SAP BEx query or data selection from the TIBCO Spotfire Data Connection for SAP BW is more than 1 million cells, it may fail to load with below error in either of the two scenarios:
1) Using ODBO driver
2) Though SAP BAPI driver is installed, preference 'UseNativeSapFunctionsAllowingMoreThanOneMillionCells' have not been enabled from Administration Manager 
Could not connect due to an unknown error.
External error:
Unable to read beyond the end of the stream.

 

Issue/Introduction

When result of of a BEx query or data selection from SAP BW connection is more than 1M cells, it may fail to load with following error when you use ODBO driver

Resolution

There are 2 options to resolve the issue:

1) Install the SAP BAPI driver (SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK). See "Installing BAPI driver" reference for more details

or

2) Set the 'UseNativeSapFunctionsAllowingMoreThanOneMillionCells' preferce to "True" using Administration Manager (TIBCO Spotfire Analyst > Tools > Administration Manager > Preferences > Select desired user group or Everyone on Left side > On Right side, Connectors > SAP BW) which will allow to load more than 1 million cells without any error.
