Description

Web Player/Automation services  instance may fail to start with the following error message in worker logs.

ERROR;2018-08-24T14:10:28,323-04:00;2018-08-24 18:10:28,323;0e07967f-53b7-482d-a019-643b84ccbf07;(null);WorkerStartup 1;;Spotfire.Dxp.Worker.Host.WorkerHost;"Failed to start worker.
System.Security.SecurityException: The executing windows identity is not a local administrator.

Issue/Introduction

Spotfire Web Player/Automation services instance fails to start when we run the Node Manager service via a Service Account.

Environment

All supported envrionments

Resolution


Make sure the Service Account which is running Node Manager service is part of the "Local Administrators" group on the Node Manager machine. And this service account has read and write access to the Node Manager installation directory and sub-directories.
