Description
After connecting to Salesforce using the TIBCO Spotfire Connector for Salesforce via Add Data Tables > Salesforce.com and entering the credentials in the TIBCO Spotfire Installed Client or after entering credentials in the TIBCO Spotfire Web Player in an already published report, the Salesforce driver might crash which in turn causes Spotfire client to crash while loading Reports and Tables with a "TIBCO Spotfire has stopped working" popup as seen in the attached picture (Salesforce Spotfire error.png), without logging any error or exception in the client and with the following error in the ODBC debug logs:
[TIBCO][Salesforce] (148) sObject type 'XXXX' is not supported.
This may occur when the user has no minimum permissions in Salesforce (i.e 'Read' and 'View All') to access those objects which are either Reports or Tables.
The ODBC debug logs mentioned can be enabled per the instructions in the Reference section.
Resolution
Enable at least 'Read' and 'View All' permissions as shown in the screenshot attached (Permissions.png), on all the Reports and Tables in order to access those in the TIBCO Spotfire client.
