When creating a visualization in Spotfire you may notice that the data points are displayed as black spots instead of the expected markers (see attached image). This issue may be caused by your graphics card or its software drivers. One way to test this is to disable "Hardware acceleration" within Spotfire.
Resolution
Uncheck Hardware acceleration in the Tools Menu by selecting Options, and then Application.
If this resolves the issue it may indicate that you have some problems with your graphics card or its software drivers. Try updating these and see if you can enable hardware acceleration again, as this greatly improves performance of TIBCO Spotfire. To update your graphics card and its drivers, check with the vendor driver installation documentation.
