Resolution
To capture a log of a Statistica crash (or other event):
Close Statistica
Download Process Monitor (see link in description above) and extract the contents of the zip file to a folder on the system (right-click and select "Extract All...")
Run Procmon.exe (double-click) from the folder created in step 2 above. It will most likely start capturing events immediately. Please select the File menu and click the Capture Events option to stop the capture for now
After capturing is stopped, select Edit | Clear Display
Then select Filter... from the Filter menu. Add a filter with these options and then click OK. ** For example, Process Name is 'not statist.exe Exclude'
Now turn back on capture (File | Capture Events) and start Statistica.
Process Monitor should begin capturing all the activity that Statistica is generating on the system.
Duplicate the problem.
Once the problem is duplicated, stop the event capture again in Process Monitor and select File | Save. Save the event log file (with default settings) to the hard drive and email the log to support or attach the log file to the case.
To capture a log of a Statistica install problem:
Run Procmon.exe from the folder created (see step 2 above). It will most likely start capturing events immediately. Please select the File menu and uncheck the Capture Events option to stop the capture for now.
Process Monitor should begin capturing all the activity on the system.
Duplicate the Statistica install issue.
Stop the event capture again in Process Monitor and select File | Save. Save the event log file (with default settings) to the hard drive and send it to support.
