TRA Distribution is an add-on Distribution that is bundled with Distributions for other TRA based Tibco Products like Tibco Administrator Enterprise Edition, Tibco Business Works, Tibco Adapter for SAP, etc 

Currently we have TRA 5.10.1 Distribution bundled with,

• TIBCO Administrator - Enterprise Edition Distribution for TIBCO Silver Fabric 5.10.1 
• TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Distribution for TIBCO Silver Fabric 5.13.0
• TIBCO Adapter for SAP Distribution for TIBCO Silver Fabric 7.2.0
• TIBCO Adapter for Database Distribution for TIBCO Silver Fabric 7.2.0

TRA 5.10.1 was compiled on JDK 1.8. So, both new and existing Silver Fabric components using the TRA 5.10.1 Distribution has a minimum requirement for the Silver Fabric Engines to be on JRE 1.8 for all platforms except for Solaris Sparc.

For All platforms except Solaris Sparc, 
Using the TRA 5.10.1 Distribution with both new and existing Silver Fabric components will work out of the box while running on Silver Fabric Engine version 5.8.1 and above since the default Engine JRE has been updated to JRE 1.8 starting Silver Fabric 5.8.1. However, on Silver Fabric Broker versions 5.8.0 and below, where the default Engine JRE is lower than JRE 1.8, the Engine JRE must be updated to use JRE 1.8 for all OS platforms used by Engines except Solaris Sparc. This is because the Java compiler is not backwards compatible, only the JVM is backwards compatible. Please refer to "Updating Engine JREs" section in the "TIBCO Silver Fabric Cloud Administration Guide".

For Solaris Sparc platform, 
On special arrangements, only for Solaris Sparc platform, the TRA Distribution 5.10.1 has been compiled with JDK 1.7. Therefore, using TRA 5.10.1 Distribution on both new and existing Silver Fabric components running on Silver Fabric Engine Version 5.x and above will work out of the box, as the default engine JRE has been updated to JRE 1.7 starting Silver Fabric 5.0.
