Issue/Introduction

Spotfire Diagnostics display "Unsupported version" for DirectX even though a supported version is installed

Resolution

The registry key settings that DirectX uses is only for version 9.0 and this is the version that Spotfire tends to pickup. This creates a conflict in the Spotfire diagnostics, though it may not cause any issues with the 3D graphs used as long as the DXDIAG (can be used from 'Start > Run' prompt in Windows) displays the supported version.

Note that the DLL's for individual DirectX versions can be found in the C:\Windows\system32 folder (look for d3d*.dll).
