Description

This article gives a brief overview of how the installer for the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst and TIBCO Spotfire Desktop clients can be installed for a single user and all users.

Resolution

    TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client:
    For the TIBCO Spotfire Analyst client from version 7.5 to 7.11, there is one installer TIB_sfire-analyst_7.X.X_win.zip. When you install it as an admin user, it gets installed for all the users:
    • PATH: C:\Program Files (x86)\TIBCO
    When you install it as a non-admin user, it gets installed for that particular user:
    • PATH: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\TIBCO
    For TIBCO Spotfire Analyst 7.12 and higher, there are two separate installers:

    One for single-user installation (TIB_sfire-analyst_7.12.0_single_user_win.zip) which is installs here:
    • PATH: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\TIBCO
    And the other for a shared computer (TIB_sfire-analyst_7.12.0_shared_computer_win.zip) which is installs here:
    • PATH: C:\Program Files (x86)\TIBCO
     
    TIBCO Spotfire Desktop client:
    For TIBCO Spotfire Desktop client, there are two installers. (Refer the attached filename Installer.PNG)
    1.  TIB_spd_7.X.X_win.zip (Installer)
    2.  TIB_spd_7.X.X_machine_win.zip (Machine Installer)
    When you install it with an installer TIB_spd_7.X.X_win.zip, it gets installed for the particular user who has installed it:
    • PATH: C:\Users\USER_NAME\AppData\Local\TIBCO
    But when you install it with machine installer TIB_spd_7.X.X_machine_win.zip, it gets installed for all the users:
    • PATH: C:\Program Files (x86)\TIBCO
