How to kill Statistica processes via Task Manager?

Description
There is sometimes a need to kill Statistica / Enterprise Manager sessions from Task Manager. The need to kill may arise from hanging sessions or to free up licenses for another user.
PREREQUISITES:
To be able to kill a session from Windows Task Manager, the user performing the operation should be an administrator on the application/ Citrix server.
Issue/Introduction
This article details how rogue Statistica/ Enterprise manager sessions can be killed from the task manager
Resolution
1. If the session to be killed is on the application server/ a workstation/ citrix server, login to the appropriate machine as an administrator.
2. Right click on the taskbar and select Task Manager to launch Windows Task Manager.
3. On older Windows server machines, you may kill the Statistica application from the Applications tab. If you are trying to kill another users session you may need to switch to the Processes tab and click on Show processes from all users

On newer versions of Windows, you may kill the Statistica Application/Enterprise Manager from the Processes tab or Details tab to kill another user's session (By default, all user sessions are displayed to an administrator)
4. From the processes tab, choose the statist.exe (Statistica Application) or staemapp.exe (Statistica Enterprise Manager) session that you would like to kill and then click on End Task button.
