Description

Engine Daemons can be configured to run when on the other side of a NAT from GSĀ  Manager and Driver(s).

Set value of the environment variable DS_USE_SNAT_IP_ADDRESS to the IP address that should be reported to GS Manager and all driver(s) as its address. The environment variable can be set either on the machine running Engine Daemon or in the Engine startup script.

Additionally, you MUST set 'Self Ping' on the fileserver to FALSE in the Engine Configuration.

This environment variable can also be used while running GS engines on cloud mainly because engines are assigned private IP addresses which causes problems for things like Direct Data Transfer (DDT). Currently, the only way to force the engines to use the public IP address is to set DS_USE_SNAT_IP_ADDRESS environment variable.
