Description:
TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for SAP cannot be installed successfully by the P2 Installer on TIBCOBusinessStudio.
Symptoms:
TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for SAP cannot be installed successfully by P2 Installer on TIBCOBusinessStudio, even though no error is reported during the installation.
Cause:
The installer comes with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for SAP 8.0.0 is incompatible with JRE 1.8.0 which is bundled with TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.3.1.

Install TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for SAP 8.0.0 by the P2 Installer using the following steps.

1). Start TIBCOBusinessStudio from the command line with the "-vm" option and pass the JVM 1.7.0 library next to it. Note that if any TIBCO product which bundles JRE 1.7.0, such as TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks 6.3.0 is installed in the same environment, use the JVM library provided by TIBCO.

 

i.e. ./TIBCOBusinessStudio -vm /opt/tibco/bw6/tibcojre64/1.7.0/lib/amd64/server/libjvm.so

If this is a clean environment without any JRE 1.7.0 distribution installed, then install OpenJDK 7 JRE first and use the JVM library that comes with OpenJDK 7 JRE to start TIBCOBusinessStudio. Consult with your system administrator regarding installing OpenJDK 7 JRE.

i.e. ./TIBCOBusinessStudio -vm /usr/lib/jvm/jre-1.7.0/lib/amd64/server/libjvm.so

2). Install TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for SAP 8.0.0 with the P2 Installer that comes with TIBCOBusinessStudio.

3). When the installation is finished, restart TIBCOBusinessStudo without the "-vm" option.

TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Plug-in for SAP fails to be installed by the P2 Installer on TIBCOBusinessStudio.
