Resolution:
Below are the configurations that are to be done at the OpenLDAP server side for adapter publication service.

1) Open the $OpenLDAP\slapd.conf file.

2) Add two lines:
        loglevel -1
        replogfile ./audit.log
  "./audit.log " is the path of the audit log file.

3) Save and run the OpenLDAP server.

4) In the Designer, provide the whole path of audit log file in the connection tab.

The adapter can then publish the changes of the OpenLDAP server
