Resolution:
If the installation of DB2 is in platforms like Window NT, Solaris, and HP, they are referred as UDB (Universal Database). In mainframe, it is referred as DB2/MVS or DB2/OS390 depending on the Operating system in use. MVS can be viewes as the predecessor of OS390.
Also there is another DB2 on AS/400.
