There is no limitation on the datastore file size for 32 and/or 64 bit EMS server. These files can grow to an extent of available free space on a hard drive. The maximum datastore file size is determined by the operating system (OS) and the file system.

Datastore files are not supposed to be used as a database. It is not recommended to let the datastore file grow unbounded. The compact command should be used periodically to keep a check on the datastore file size. Refer to FAQ1-8GIX1Z regarding compacting datastore files.
