Resolution:
Can we install/configure more than 1 instance of (TIBCO Collaborative Information Manager)CIM on the same box (unix/linux under a different user, in a different directory structure) and run them both at the same time?

As long as the machine has enough resources you can setup/install multiple instances of CIM at the same time. Please. Also it is required to change the port numbers accordingly, please refer to application servers user guide.

Before starting the application you have to make sure that you have setup the new environment variables explicitly, so that the new JVM will get the environment variables that are available when the JVM is started. .profile or an environment script can be used to isolate each installation from other.
