Resolution:
Assuming that after cloning the hostname and/or IP address changes, the following needs to be checked to make sure new hostname / IP address is referenced.

Inside BW:

1). HTTP Connection - If specified as "localhost", WSDL will automatically change the host name when you make the cursor focus on it. If an IP is specified, you have to manually change the IP in WSDL if the IP has changed.

2). JMS Connection - You have to manually change the URL.

3). DB Connection - You have to manually change the URL.

4). Global Variables - If set to be the current host name, manually changing it is required after renaming.

5). Any other activity referring ro host name should be double checked.

6). Also rebuild the EAR file and recheck all the entries.
