Running TIBCOUniversalInstaller in GUI mode, the installer can not detect the existing TIBCO_HOME dirs. The drop down is empty or missing some of the TIBCO_HOME dirs.

TRA 5.7 and up
Administrator 5.7 and up

  
Symptoms:
=========
Running TIBCOUniversalInstaller, the installer can’t detect existing TIBCO_HOME dir.

Cause:
=====
TIBCOUniversalInstaller is looking for the _envInfo.xml file from the user dir to get the TIBCO_HOME env information. If the user is not the one who installed or created the TIBCO_HOME, this user will not have the _envInfo.xml file. The envInfo file can be found in &ltuser_home>/.TIBCOEnvInfo dir.
Another reason is that the Tibco_home content might have been created from cloning the existing installation where the _envInfo.xml file is not getting copied along.


Resolution:
=========
1). Only the user who installed the TIBCO_product can have access to the TIBCO_HOME dir.

2). If the purpose of running the TIBCOUniversalInstaller is to upgrade the existing Tibco_home, then it should be run by the user who installed it.

3). If the existing Tibco_home is cloned from other machine, then the user should copy the _envInfo from the original environment.
