Description:
When only "Runtime TIBCO ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) " installation is done in silent mode using a response file, the installation stops without any error.
Symptoms:
Installation of TIBCO Runtime Agent™ (TRA) without "Designer" in silent mode works fine but silent installation of TIBCO ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) without "Design time" and
Documentation" is aborted.
Cause:
Silent installation of TIBCO ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) (FA) does not go into the component details since the response file created does not record component level selection. By
default it selects the typical install and will install all components
(Design time, run time and documentation). If the Designer is not
installed then silent installation stops since Design time FA
requires a previous installation of Designer.
Resolution
TIBCO ActiveMatrix® Adapter for Files (Unix/Win) (FA) 6.0 installation packages are suit installers and does not support recording of component selection of sub products from the response file. The response file created does not contain any information about selection done at the component level for FA. This limitation is documented in the Installation Guide as well.
In this case, a modified response file for a specific customer environment is suggested. Follow these steps:
1). Edit the contents of the response file to include:

3). Run the installer using the syntax:
./ <FAInstaller> -options /tmp/adfiles_rsp.txt
