Resolution:
Check the Engine logs for a message similar to the following:

/opt/datasynapse/DSEngine/jre/bin/i386/native_threads/java: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory Failed.

On RedHat 7.2 systems, the Engine code requires a compatibility RPM that isn't installed by default. This package name is compat-libstdc++-6.2-2.9.0.16. Install this from your RedHat CD, or download the latest copy from http://www.redhat.com.
