Resolution:
When using direct data transfer files where Engines are running with a UID other than the UID of the Driver, the Driver user's umask setting must be set accordingly. The Driver will create a work directory for writing inputs and for Engines to write outputs with permissions 775. Driver users must be in the same unix group as the Engine and must have their umask set so as not to remove group write permissions. This does not apply to Windows Engines.
