In TIBCO Collaborative Information Manager  (CIM),when importing metadata ,the following error is thrown:
java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist



Environment:

CIM 7.X and above
Linux 2.4

Symptoms:
=========
CIM throw below the below exception when importing the metadata.

java.sql.SQLException: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist


Cause:
=====

This error will be throwed only when oracle instance is not started and that the system is recognising the network. This error ORA-12545 is thrown when IP address is not found. so please check whether your system is connected to network.
