Chapter 1 of the TIBCO Business Studio 3.1.0 Installation Guide, Installing TIBCO Business Studio, includes a section detailing Pre-Installation Tasks if installing into an existing Eclipse platform.
There are a number of plug-ins documented that should be downloaded and installed.
However, the section does not mention the Data Tools Platform 1.6.0. This is required and can be downloaded as follows:

The archive file should be downloaded and extracted into the top-level directory of your Eclipse installation.
If the Data Tools Platform 1.6.0 is not installed the impact is that simulation comparison reports will not be available.
