Resolution:
Yes. BW 5.4.2 and BW 5.6.2 and above support JRE 1.6.
The minimum TRA version to be used is TRA 5.6.

Please note that TRA 5.6 does not bundle JRE 1.6.
JRE 1.6 has to be installed separately and relevant changes need to be done.
Refer FAQ1-9H01L3 which explains the steps in detail.

Currently these  are known issues when using JRE 1.6 with BW.

#1 Copy "wrap" executable from TRA 5.6 directory ( example :- C:\tibco\tra\5.6\bin\wrap.exe) as "bwengine" under BW_HOME.
Please take a back up of the bwengine.exe from BW_HOME before doing this operation.
This is required as the wrap from TRA 5.6 directory is the latest version and it works
with JRE 1.6.
Without this change the engine on start up will throw errors.
This will be addressed in later versions of BW by bundling the latest version of "wrap.exe".

# Currently the bwengine.exe log/console does not print the JRE version correctly.

JRE 1.5.0 - Info BWENGINE-300011   Java version: Java HotSpot(TM) Server VM 1.5.0_15-b04

This is a known issue too and will be fixed in later releases.
