Description
Description: Symptoms ========= While trying to install Turbo XML 2.4.1 on a loaded machine, the user may experience the following error: "Error occurred during initialization of VM. Could not reserve enough space for the object heap".
Impact ======= Inability to start the application.
Workaround =========== Run Turbo XML in batch mode. The batch file - runTurbo.bat - resides in "Turbo" directory on Windows. Double-clicking the .bat file should start the application. If this works, you know the likely cause.
Cause ====== The default value of memPercent is incorrect to run Turbo XML on your system (typically systems with 1G of RAM or more).
Resolution =========== If Turbo XML runs successfully in batch mode, proceed as follows: 1. Exit the application. 2. Open the "turbo.ini" file in a simple text editor like Notepad. 3. Scroll to the bottom of the file and add the following line: memPercent=n By default, the value of n=90 but "n" has a range between 20 and 200. Start by setting memPercent=20 (which amounts to 20% of 1 gig or 200 megs). This value is sufficient for most applications of Turbo XML, but if this value does not work for you, experiment with other values. 4. Save the edits to the "turbo.ini" file. 5. Start Turbo XML from the executable (turbo.exe). Symptoms:
