Appendix E Request-Response Operations in the TIBCO Adapter for Siebel Users Guide talks about below entry in Table 28 List of Error Codes for error Code "-38".
Value entered in the field exceeds 100, which is the maximum size.

But the error code '-38' - Error while setting value for the field in Siebel for Request Response Operation can be returned because of following two reasons:
1) Value entered in the field exceeds 100, which is the maximum size.
2) An error while setting the value for a picklist field


Impact:

May lead to confusion in case error code is returned because of 2nd reason above. This is true for ADSBL 5.2.0 HF7 and ADSBL 5.3.1

Workaround:

None.

Resolution:

The issue will be addressed in future adapter release.
