This solution provides an account on how the TIBCO Adapter(TM) for LDAP (LDAP Adapter) publishes the entries from Novell eDirectory LDAP Server.

Novell eDirectory Server

The LDAP Adapter uses the 'Persistent Search Control' mechanism that is provided by Novell eDirectory. This eDirectory event service, enables applications to be notified of significant events that occur within the LDAP Directory. Thus, whenever there is a significant event (for eg. a deletion, modification or addition) occurs on the LDAP server the persistent search control automatically detects it and the adapter is able to publish the change.
There are two capabilities of the LDAP Adapter by which the publication of changes may be restricted. These are explained as follows -
1. Configure the adapter to publish changes only under a particular Base DN. The changes made outside the scope of the Base DN are not published by the adapter.
2. Configure the adapter to publish changes for only a particular object class. Thus, the user gets information only pertaining to an object class or a set of object classes that is required.
