Description:
============
TIBCO InstallationManager or TIBCO Administrator is not able to recognize TIBCO Adapter for Files installation after successful installation of TIBCO Adapter for Files.

Environment:
===========
All supported platforms.

Resolution:
==========
TIBCO InstallationManager or TIBCO Administrator use the  'vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername>' file as a registry that keeps all TIBCO product installation information.  Note that &ltservername> represents the actual hostname where  the installation has been performed. Some TIBCO products also make a copy of the 'vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername>' file as 'vpd.properties' file at certain times during installation.

Both files viz. 'vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername> and 'vpd.properties' are located under the Windows root installation folder (usually C:\Windows) for all Windows platforms wheras for Unix platfoms both files are located under the particular user home directory who performed installation.

The following areas can be examined if the TIBCO InstallationManager or the TIBCO Administrator is not able to recognize the TIBCO Adapter for Files installation. Verify that either file 'vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername>’ or ‘vpd.properties’ exists on the system. Note for Windows platform installations: peform an advanced search on hidden files as well to make sure the file is not shown because it is a hidden file.  If ‘vpd.properties’ is missing, corrupted or old then try copying the ‘vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername> to vpd.properties after making a backup of the ‘vpd.properties’ file.

For Unix platforms, make sure the user account launching the TIBCO InstallationManager or TIBCO Administrator is the one that was used to install the software.

Make sure there was no change in the &ltservername> of the system after installation. In such cases the file 'vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername>’ needs to reflect the updated hostname.

If there is any change in the TIBCO domain administration password, then make sure that the complete procedure stated in the TIBCO Domain Utility User Guide-> chap 3-&gtChanging Domain Credentials section is followed.

If there is any backup copies of the ‘vpd.properties’ or ‘vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername>’ files available then try to restore the files in case both files are not seen at their expected location (i.e., Windows root installation folder or user home directory) or have been corrupted or are not recognized for any of the reason.

As a precaution, a regular backup of 'vpd.properties.tibco.&ltservername> and 'vpd.properties' and stopping all TIBCO products before each installation should be done.
