Resolution:
Before BC 3.0.1 patch 2, you have to. With BC 3.0.1 patch 2 or later, you may run the script
tools/ntservice/scripts/updateServicesConfigFile.bat
which takes care of the changes without un/reinstalling the NT services. Note, you have to restart the running services for the changes to take effect.
