This is a documentation defect of the readme file in TIBCO ActiveMatrix 3.3.0 version.
The accurate statement should be:
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server:
5.5+, 6.x 32-bit on x86
5.5+, 6.x 64-bit on x86-64
The minimum supported version of Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.x version is 5.5 as Oracle Java 7 only supports 5.5 and above.
