Description

Resolution:
In order to exchange confidential data between client and server, Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) supports data encryption and de-encryption using encryption keys. TIBCO Object Service Broker 5.2 and all previous releases do not support SSL protocol. This however is a known requirement.

Environment:
==========
All  TIBCO Object Service Broker environments supporting client and server connections.

Resolution:
=========
There has been no announcement for support of Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol; however, the requirement is well known and described by:

OSBZ-170  Enhancement Request:
Object Service Broker (OSB) should support Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) across all platforms...

The requirement to support this enhancement request for SSL connections has been addressed by knowledge item:
   SOL1-BZTFX3 Securing TIBCO Object Service Broker Client/Server Communications with AT-TLS
which provides a method of supporting SSL connections between TIBCO Object Service Broker (OSB) systems on z/OS and Open Systems and their clients. This is achieved by using z/OS AT-TLS and STUNNEL products in conjunction with OSB.

Please logon to support.tibco.com and navigate to Solution SOL1-BXTFX3 to download the attached file TIBCO-OSB-AT-TLS-KB-ver1.pdf, which will guide you through the process of enabling SSL.
