Resolution:
When ever there is any update to admin plugin, we need to restart admin to make sure the changes take affect. Please restart your admin and just check if you are able to see the ER model there.

Smartmapper5.2.x and earlier versions do not support LOCAL deployment option, please check how are you deploying the applications containing smartmapper activities. You need to use RV mode of deployment to fix this problem.
