Resolution:
Check the command line option that you give when starting the be-engine.exe. The most common mistake done is providing an improper file/corrupted file for the --proFile parameter.
For E.g. If you specify be-engine --propFile test.txt then you will encounter this problem (it should be a valid .tra file).
