Resolution:
The timer will adjust for daylight saving time when the interval unit is day or larger.  When the units are less than a day it assumes you mean exactly that number.
For example, if you say fire the timer every 24 hours then you want it to do it every 24 hours.  But if you say you want the timer to fire every 1 day, then you want it to adjust for DST as the time adjusts twice a year.
