TIB/ObjectBus was designed to serve as the "hub ORB" which provides the massively scalable, industrial-strength backbone for enterprise CORBA applications. It was also designed to be the ideal platform for the integration of MOM (and especially TIB) with ORB. As such, it provides the following features: Asynchronous method invocation with callback Broadcast and multicast method invocation one-way, two-way synchronous and two-way asynchronous; subject based method invocation eases administration and provides other features based on filtering. Multithreading Full multi-protocol support TIB/ObjectBus was designed to transparently support multiple protocols, which provide different transport semantics and data representations. A single server object can, knowingly or not, accept requests via many different transports at the same time, and all applications can be at the same time transport-blink and multi-protocol capable. Tight integration with TIB/Rendezvous Transport support for multiple Qualities of Service (QOS) In addition, TIB/ObjectBus offers a number of other extensions which ensure that developers have maximum flexibility Interceptors Optimized co-located object invocation Self-describing data Open application management strategy
