Microsoft ceased providing mainstream support for SQL Server 2000 on 9 April 2008 but will provide extended support until 9 April 2013.
Therefore, only customers who have an extended support contract with Microsoft will have access to support services for SQL Server 2000.
TIBCO will continue to support TIBCO Staffware 2000 v8.1 and TIBCO Process Engine 9.0 on SQL Server but in cases where a problem reported by a customer appears to be SQL Server 2000 related, solutions from Microsoft are unlikely to be available.
In order to provide ongoing support customers may upgrade their SQL Server installations to SQL Server 2005 and operate them in SQL Server 2000 compatibility mode (80-compatibility mode) which will provide a database platform for Staffware 2000 and Process Engine that is supported by Microsoft.
