Resolution:
The Override Promotion feature works quite differently from using the normal Manage > Authorisation > Promote Draft Copy functionality in that it is only promoting just the one diagram, rather than the normal way of promoting diagrams which takes the complete hierarchically structure from whichever level it's started at.
The Override Promotion feature is more strict in that it needs to have the correct parent diagram and all the same number of child diagrams already in place in the Master before the selected diagram can be override promoted, e.g. you can't do an Override Promotion if the selected Draft diagram has 4 drill downs but the corresponding Master diagram only currently has 3 drill downs. A normal promotion from that level would need to be done.
It is therefore recommended that you always use the standard way of promoting diagrams, i.e. navigate to the required level in the Draft and then select to promote from that level. This will also be faster too as it's not reading through the entire map from the level 1 diagram and below.
