Description
Description: If there is a service that consists of multiple decoupled processes and it is not obvious which activity of a process of the process chain is erroneous, a special variant of tracing called "Deep Trace" can be used Please note that
deep trace feature can be used only on JMS activities but not on other/all activities.
The technical per-requisites
to use the deep trace feature are:
1). Using at least TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks (BW) 5.11 or higher and
2). Using at least TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor(BWPM) client version 2.2 or higher
3). The deep trace feature can be used only on JMS activities.
Resolution
Steps to use the "Deep Trace" feature:
1). Create sample project having a process with JMS queue sender. 2). Create JMS Queue receiver process which calls some processes. 3). Load all processed in Designer tester OR deploy this Application in domain. 4). Log in to TIBCO BusinessWorks ProcessMonitor(BWPM) GUI. Navigate to a process with a JMS queue sender and Enabled deep tracing on JMS queue sender activity. 5). The Process Diagram tab will have a "+" symbol on the yellow bulb on the JMS queue sender activity in the BWPM GUI. 6). If you check that the settings persisted by checking the BWPM GUI
Admin tab's trace settings, also verify the same in njams_config.xml. 5). Create a job of JMS Queue sender process and on checking BWPM GUI it shows trace data for all activity
of the JMS Queue receiver process and all activity of sub process called by the JMS Queue receiver process. For details, see the attached doc (Filename: BWPM_GUI_With_Deep_Tracing.docx).
Sample project is attached. Follow the steps below and verify the same.
1). Open attached project 'BWPMKrishTestDeepTrace' (Filename: BWPMKrishTestDeepTrace.zip) in Designer. 2). Set BWPM related Global Veriables as per your environment. Also modify the JMS connection settings. 3). Open folder USER_HOME\.TIBCO\resource (for eg.C:\Users\shah_pn\.TIBCO\resource). Put the attached file (filename: BWPMKrishTestDeepTrace_njams_config.xml) in this folder. 4). Load all processes in Designer and create a job for the process with the JMS queue sender. 5). Check BWPM GUI.
