In BW 5.x you can disable and enable some validation at the activity level using these properties:
Validate.<Input|Output>.Task.<processDef>.<activity>
Validate.<Input|Output>.Task.*.<activity>
Validate.<Input|Output>.Task.<shortClassNameOfActivity>
Validate.<Input|Output>.Task.<processDef>.*
Validate.<Input|Output>.Task.*
Note that these properties are not supported in BW6.x
