Description:
High level procedure to upgrade an existing TIBCO ActiveMatrix ("AMX") runtime enterprise from an earlier 3.x version to 3.3.0 with the latest hotfix.(In AMX terms, "enterprise" is the top-level object in the hierarchy of administration. You will find a detailed explanation from the documentation of the applicable product).

1). Stop all impacted TIBCO processes and install the applicable product target version through TIBCOUniversalInstaller. The target version can be one of the followings:

     - TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Grid ("AMSG") 3.3.0
     - TIBCO ActiveMatrix Service Bus ("AMSB") 3.3.0
     - TIBCO ActiveMatrix BusinessWorks Service Engine ("BWSE") 5.11.0
     - TIBCO ActiveMatrix BPM ("AMX BPM") 2.2.0, 3.0.0 or 3.1.0.

2). Follow the specific upgrade procedure documented in the "Installation and Configuration" guide of the applicable product. That would upgrade the product to the target version which has AMX platform 3.3.0 .

3). Stop all impacted TIBCO processes and install the latest hotfix available for TIBCO ActiveMatrix Platform 3.3.0 (hotfix007 as this article was being authored), through TIBCOUniversalInstaller.

4). Follow the guidelines available in the hotfix readme to apply the latest hotfix to the AMX enterprise through tibamx_patchmgr.

Note, users may choose to install the hotfix right after the product installation (Step 1). In this case, the hotfix would not be automatically applied as a result of the upgrade procedure (Step 2) and a subsequent tibamx_patchmgr execution (Step 4) would still be required.
