Description:
After adding machines to the Administrator domain, users cannot see installed software on the newly added machine in the Administrator GUI.




Symptoms:

Starting Hawk agent throws following error:

"java.lang.Exception: /opt/tibco does not exist or does not have write permission to create VPD registry"
"java.lang.Exception: Unable to load VPD registry"

Cause:
Unable to create vpd properties file under $USER_HOME folder due to folder permission issue.

Resolution

Grant write permissions to $USER_HOME folder (e.g., in Linux /opt/tibco to 777) to allow vpd file creation.
