Description: The TIBCO Nimbus Author Client may freeze and or crash when a map is opened and will require the user or users to force close Nimbus using the Task manager Symptoms: The client may freeze and or crash when a user attempts to log in Cause: This is caused by an issue with the users preference file and this will need to be removed before the user will be able to access the system again
Resolution
To resolve the issue you will need to find the ID/s of the affected user/s by going to the User account window finding the users names in the list. You will then need to click on View > Show column customizing window > drag the 'ID' field into the table field.
You will now be able to see the users ID number attached to their account which you should note down for the next step.
Now you need direct access to the server that Nimbus is installed on and navigate to the following folder path: \Process Repository\Users\Prefs
In this folder you will see all of the users that have a preference file in the system, use the ID the we obtained previously and find the relevant file in the folder. Once located delete the file and get the user to log back into the system which should now open without any issues.
