No. An EMSA FT pair can not be deployed in a geographically different location or more than one km. For a FT configuration, units should be deployed in the same data center as close as possible (15-20 meters). However, in the past, customers have asked to deploy FT appliances in different fire zones located on the same floor but different building structures with doors in between to isolate in the event of fire. For that purpose, 10Gb SFP+ SR fibre cables can run up to 300m to 500m in length but latency may become a factor at that point if you use a many fail-safe destinations. You can have 300m to 500m meters apart as long as the optic fiber cables are dedicated to the appliance and do not have any secondary equipment (repeaters, switches, routers, etc) in between.  The cables have to be directly cabled from appliance to appliance.
