Users have control characters in their string data, used as a separator. When trying to use these characters in some XPATH string functions, they have problems typing these characters.

Resolution:

XPATH function "hex-to-string" could be used to input control characters. i.e., for characters with a hex value of 0x05, hex-to-string ('05'). Note that, <?tibco-char 5?> is not a valid input. It is used by TIBCO to represent control characters.
