Issue/Introduction

This article addresses the occurrence of Security Alerts in App Studio due to expired certificates and provides steps to resolve the issue effectively.

Environment

Windows

Resolution

Changing the URL for the Output Viewer Settings in App Studio Options resolves this issue. The default Test URL for App Studio old versions was originally set to http://www.informationbuilders.com. To rectify this, customers are advised to update this URL to http://www.tibco.com, http://www.ibi.com, or any other valid web address. Restarting the system after adjusting the settings is recommended to ensure the changes take effect.
Follow these steps to resolve the Security Alert issue in App Studio:

  1. Change Output Settings:

  2. Restart Server:

    • Navigate to the server folder and stop the server.
    • Restart your machine.
    • Start the server again.
  3. Help Configuration Adjustment:

    • Review the Help Configuration settings:
      • Protocol: HTTPS
      • Host: docs.tibco.com
      • Port: 443
      • Help Context Root: /appstudio/8207/doc/html/index.jsp

By making these adjustments, customers can mitigate the certificate expiration issue and ensure smooth operation of App Studio without encountering Security Alerts.

This approach aligns App Studio with updated certificate configurations and enhances security compliance within WebFOCUS environments.
