Description

User encountered error "Directory is not writable" when running simple workspaces with R node in WebStatistica, e.g, the Statistica example workspace RNode.sdm.

Checking the Windows Event Viewer logs for Statsoft, it gave below entries:

COM Error: Access is denied.
Directory is not writable.
--------------

The user is under WebStatistica user group SWS_USER, but not SWS_Admin. 

If scheduling the workspace as a batch job in WebStatistica, it gave messages like:

Scheduling the workspace: The workspace does not create any batch job results or creates any error message.
------------------

Issue/Introduction

"Directory is not writable" error when running workspaces in WebStatistica

Resolution

This is due to the reason that the user under WebStatistica user group SWS_USER does not have access to the WebStatistica RepositoryRoot folder. 
The solution is to add SWS_USER group or Everyone to the list of Usernames and give the group full control access to the WebStatistica Repository root folder:  ":\WebSTATISTICAPub\RepositoryRoot\"
