This article demonstrates an example of plotting a pareto chart based on the revised version of "Circuits.sta" data from Statistica example datasets folder. Another pareto chart example on the original data can be found here. In order to suit the example in this KB article, a new variable named "Codes" that copies the value of the case name is added. The final modified data is shown as below:
1. When the data is open, click Statistics|Six Sigma (under Industry Statistics group)|Control|Quality Control Charts...
2. Under the Quality Control Charts dialog, select "Pareto chart analysis" and click "OK".
3. When "Defining Variables for Pareto Chart:" dialog is prompted, select "Codes and counts" as the format of input data for this example. Explanation of each input format can be here. Note: you need select different formats depending on your data structure.
4. Under the same dialog, click "Variables" (highlighted in the above image)to select "Codes" as the variable with defect types and "No_DEFECT" as the variable with defect counts and then click "OK". Note: if you want to get sample labels from another variable, select the variable under "Labels" tab.
5. The pareto chart will be generated and you can click result dialog minimized at the bottom (highlighted in red) to configure more options such as showing % as column labels.
