Description

Description:
This article describes how to give privilege "Custom Query in Connections" to the Spotfire user when this option is disabled/greyed out under the licenses tab in Spotfire Administration Manager.

Resolution

  • "Custom Query in Connections" license can only be enabled for members of the "Custom Query Author group" or the "Administrator" group. The user should be a member of one of these two groups. To know more about "Custom Query in Connection", see the following description:
--------------------------------------------------------------
Custom Query in Connection:

Allows a user to create and sign custom queries for data access using data connections.

Note: This license can only be enabled for members of the Custom Query Author group or the Administrator group. However, members which only belong to the Administrator group can only save local copies of the analysis to disk, not publish signed analyses to the library. Custom queries are signed when a member of the Custom Query Author group saves an analysis file, or data connection to the library. Only files published to the library can be signed.
