FINAL UPDATE 04-September-2019 4:00 PM EDT: The referenced Microsoft link indicates that all listed versions of Windows OS systems affected by this security patch have been resolved. Please refer to the article to find your version of the fix and apply to your Windows server. For your reference again:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/ Update 20-August-2019 12:45 PM EDT: We have been watching the Microsoft site and it appears that many versions have been resolved, just not the one we have in house so we haven't been able to test. Our recommendation at this time is go to this site and navigate to your version, then known issues and notifications. Look for the status of the fix:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/release-information/. As always, if possible, test the update in a non-production environment first.
Update 19-August-2019 11:00 AM EDT: Microsoft has indicated that they are working on a resolution and estimates are that the solution will be available late August. The ‘optional’ update will be available on Microsoft Update Catalog, Windows Update, Microsoft Update and Windows Server Update Services (WSUS). As with any ‘optional’ update, you will need to check for updates to receive the update once it is released.
TIBCO will test the solution when it is released and confirm that it resolves the issues. We will update this article once we have it tested. We will not be developing a separate solution to mitigate the problem caused by this Windows update. The workaround continues to be roll back the update or do not apply it until we have confirmed that the fix from Microsoft works.
Update 16-Aug-2019 12:00 EDT: Microsoft has indicated that something with the latest Windows update has broken VBA and VB6 and they are working on fixing it quickly. TIBCO Scribe continues to recommend rolling the update back or not applying it at all.
